We've Got You.

What is homeschooling?

Homeschooling is a flexible way to educate your children at home, tailored to their pace and interests. It’s a legal, valid choice for any Australian family wanting to prioritize connection and customized learning.

How does registration work?

Registration rules vary by state, but generally involve submitting a simple learning plan to your state education authority. It’s a straightforward process designed to ensure every child has access to quality education.

What records do I need to keep?

Keeping simple records like book lists, samples of work, and a basic journal of activities is usually enough. It helps track progress and serves as documentation for your state reviews.

What planning evidence helps?

Evidence can be as simple as photos of projects, a list of educational apps or games, and a few printable worksheets. The goal is to show the breadth of your child's learning across different areas.

Does it need to look like school?

Absolutely not. Homeschooling is most effective when it doesn’t mimic school. It’s about real-life learning, conversation, and discovery that happens beyond a desk.

Learning Plans...
                     ...Aren't So Scary

There's a common misconception that a learning plan is a completely thought out lesson plan for the year. It's not.

A learning plan (or educational program) is actually just a highlight of what you plan to teach your child over time, what resources and activities you might use and how you will collect evidence of your child's progress.

Each Australian State varies in depth and wording for Learning Plans, so we have provided templates for each state, and free planning bundles to help you map out possible activities, resources and evidence collection per year level.
